Director Jason Smith - No Relation to Baker - Joins Harvest

Transatlantic director Jason Smith signs with Harvest.

Harvest has signed director Jason Smith for exclusive US representation.

"Jason is an incredible talent with a deep understanding of our industry," comments Harvest co-founder/EP Bonnie Goldfarb. "Jason is an extremely collaborative and diverse director whose work is memorable and engaging. We are excited to welcome him to Harvest."

Based in Los Angeles and London, a Brit, Smith spent his childhood growing up in countries as diverse as Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan and Greece. After sailing across the Atlantic, Smith's directorial debut was a documentary about local life in the Caribbean and his subsequent short film on Barcelona was sold to MTV.

Commercials were quick to follow, with Smith helming the largest commercial campaign in the UK -- an 18-day shoot in Sydney, Australia for Gatorade. That same year he was nominated for new director of the year at Cannes. He has since gone on to direct many commercials for clients including Nike, Coca-Cola, Verizon, Mitsubishi, Ford, Audi, Sony, Mountain Dew, British Army, and EA sports, among others. His Nike and Audi Campaigns have won the AICP award and are part of the Museum of Modern Art archive. Smith has also won numerous Cannes Lions and BTAA awards, and has received many D&AD nominations.

Smith has recently been on the road shooting a documentary following the journey of sculptor Jon Krawzyck. Together they traveled across 18 states from California to New York carrying Krawzyck's replacement 9/11 memorial cross, destined for Ground Zero, strapped to the back of a pick up truck. The film is due for release in late 2012.
